ENGINEERING

specializations available at the bachelor level (BE/B
Tech) are:
Aeronautical Engineering
This discipline deals with design, analysis, construction,
development, testing and manufacture of commercial
and military aircraft, missile and spacecraft. Further
specialisation under this field are aerodynamics,
thermodynamics, propulsion, structures, celestial
machines, acoustics and guidance and control systems.
Employment: Defence services,
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and other
government laboratories and organizations, apart from
a few multinational companies, which are engaged in
aviation, offer high-paying jobs.
Automobile Engineering
This branch of specialization deals with design, development,
repair and manufacture of automobiles.
Employment: As is evident
on the Indian roads, the automobile manufacturing
industry is scaling new heights. Defence is another
prospective employer.
Chemical Engineering
This deals with application of the principles of chemistry
and engineering to solve problems in the production
of chemicals and chemical products.
Employment: Job opportunities
are diverse for chemical engineers. It ranges from
paints, dyes, varnish, acids, petroleum, and fertilizers
to food, dairy products, textiles, plastics and rubber
industries.
